With the KNX/IP router it is possible to communicate bidirectionally, several KNX bus lines through LAN networks. The device, if connected to a PC with appropriate software (e.g. ETS), can also be used as a programming interface of the KNX bus system. The IP address can be dynamically assigned via DHCP server or configured manually via ETS parameters. Communication takes place in accordance with KNXnet/IP specifications. When transferring data, a filter table can be configured and up to 150 telegrams can be kept in the buffer memory.
