The DALI® repeater LR00A01DAL is designed as a 3-unit module for DIN rail and features an interface with 4 diagnostic LEDs for intuitive and simplified monitoring. This device, in fact, allows extending the maximum DALI bus length from 300 to 600 meters, also providing an extra 250 mA of current to support more devices.
The repeater does not increase the number of available DALI addresses: the limit of 64 addresses for control devices (like LED drivers or relays) and 64 for input devices (like sensors or buttons) remains unchanged.
For installation, the main DALI network, usually connected to the controller, should be connected to the “IN” side of the repeater. The network extension, on the other hand, must be connected to the “OUT” side. Unlike the “IN” side, which is powered directly by the master DALI bus, the “OUT” side provides current thanks to the repeater’s external power supply, which requires a voltage of 100÷240 V~ AC.
Finally, it is possible to connect multiple repeaters in parallel on the “IN” side, but series (cascaded) connection is not allowed, as this would cause propagation delays and communication errors. This device consumes less than 2 mA on the “IN” side but guarantees 230 mA of DALI current on the “OUT” side.
